Job Title: Marketing and Publications Intern
Job Duration: Part-time, year-long paid position, 15-20 hrs/week, flexible

Stratton Publishing & Marketing Inc. is a growing, specialized publishing and marketing company that custom publishes magazines, e-newsletters, Web sites, etc. for professional membership organizations. We are looking for a dynamic marketing/business/
communications intern who wants to get great real-world experience in business/publishing/
communications and marketing. The intern will help market listings in our biannual facility design publication, plus other marketing/communication projects. Job includes:
• Make telemarketing calls to architectural firms to alert them to closing deadlines and encourage submitting a design project.
• Assist with email marketing program to promote paid listings by architects in the publication, including writing and designing e-mail blasts in Constant Contact.
• Research, write, and layout news and marketing stories for quarterly e-newsletter.
• Update information for key contacts in Excel database.
• Review and update Web site and social media sites with marketing news and information.
• Assist with production of publication, including proofing, editing, writing.

Qualifications
• Marketing, Business, Communications/Journalism/E-media student
• Rising Junior or Junior year
• Outgoing, self starter, at ease making marketing sales calls
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong written skills with marketing copy/news writing, including social media and Web
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook. Constant Contact knowledge is a plus.

Job Title: Editorial/Production Intern
Job Duration: Summer and during the year (part time/full time)

Opportunity for summer intern to help provide support to busy magazine publishing operations in our Alexandria, VA, office for half or full days. Duties include work on magazines and other projects to copy edit, write articles and departments, proofread, and fact check. Also provide help in database updates, administrative support, and other projects. Proficiency in Word, Excel preferred. Job Requirements: Part Time Production Artist for Small Custom Publisher

High-quality, busy magazine publisher in Alexandria, VA seeks organized, efficient individual to assist art director in juggling multiple magazine design projects. Duties include import/stylize text for layout of magazines, make page corrections, place/preflight ads, prepare PDFs for printer, layout special advertising sections, conduct art searches for photos/art, and some online work. Ideal candidate will have excellent skills on Mac for Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Quark Xpress. We are looking for quick study, team-oriented individual who is highly organized and able to trouble-shoot. Estimated 12-15 hrs/week. Schedule is somewhat flexible.
