Three Micro-Strategies for Integrating Print
and Electronic Content

Regardless of the delivery channels your use, the key to successful content integration is engaging members and delivering the best possible content in the ways they want it most. Here are three easy steps to get started:

1. Double-dip. Review your print publications for valuable chunks of content you can adapt for blogs, social networking sites, or podcasts. For example, President's Messages and recorded interviews translate into excellent podcasts, while event and hard news reporting can be fodder for your next blog or Facebook update.

2. Maximize digital tools. If your magazine has a digital platform, learn the ins and outs of any built-in sharing resources, such as badges and widgets. These tools often are simple to use, but will make an impact in driving members/readers to your blogs, Web sites, advocacy pages, and more.

3. Populate listservs. Generate interest by posting editorial teasers or snippets from e-newsletters or social network conversations to your organization's listserv as well as others in the industry.
